Rossland News, a community newspaper serving Rossland, British Columbia, published its final print edition on March 7, 2024. The website continues to provide daily local news coverage. Black Press Media announced on March 5, 2024, that the company would stop publishing a print edition of the paper. Local news coverage from Rossland News will instead be included in the West Kootenay Advertiser, which is an insert distributed inside the Trail Times, Castlegar News, Nelson Star, and Arrow Lakes News community newspapers.

Beginning on June 2, 2021, the Manitoulin West Recorder became a part of the Manitoulin Expositor, appearing on page three of the weekly paper.

Gravité Média closed Le Brossard Éclair, a weekly newspaper serving the Brossard community in Quebec, in January 2019 when it merged the community newspaper with Le Courrier du Sud. On January 11, 2017, Le Brossard Éclair began being published within Le Courrier du Sud, but continued to maintain its own website. The two papers had already shared an office and staff since around 2009. The first edition of the newspaper was published on October 21, 1980.

The Rive-Sud Express.ca, a weekly community newspaper in Longueuil, has closed. The website was last updated on December 9, 2016. Les Médias de la Rive-Sud bought the newspaper in September 2014. Transcontinental launched the newspaper’s website on April 1, 2010, and the first print edition was published on April 15, 2010.

The free community newspaper serving Stratford, ON, was launched by Grant Haven Media as a monthly publication on August 12, 2021, and became a twice-a-month print publication in 2022.

St. Croix Courier, a community newspaper serving Charlotte County, New Brunswick, was founded in 1865 in St. Stephen. Advocate Media purchased the newspaper in 2002. Publication of the paper was paused after its May 29, 2024 edition while the company looked for a buyer. CHCO-TV, an independent broadcaster based in Saint Andrews, purchased the newspaper and revived it as part of the CHCO-TV website in November 2024. CHCO-TV began publishing a free monthly print edition of the newspaper on June 1, 2025.

The newspaper had been delivered door-to-door through Publisac, a plastic bag that included the newspapers and local flyers. However, Transcontinental announced in November 2023 that the company would be gradually replacing Publisac with raddar, a different flyer product. Trium Médias acquired Le Lac-Saint-Jean, Le Nouvelles Hebdo and L'Étoile du Lac from Transcontinental and launched the redesigned newspapers on August 16, 2017. The newspaper was founded in 1941.

The weekly newspaper stopped publishing a print edition during the pandemic and had been distributing the newspaper as a pdf emailed to subscribers since then. After multiple mergers, the newspaper became known as the Lambton-Middlesex Standard in the mid-1990s.

Jasper Fitzhugh

Jasper Fitzhugh announced on August 11, 2025, that the newspaper would be closing at the end of August. The loss of local businesses in Jasper due to the wildfires resulted in a reduction of ad revenue that made the newspaper unsustainable. The weekly community newspaper had been serving Jasper since 2005. It launched as an independent newspaper, was sold to Aberdeen Publishing in 2012, and has been published by Great West Media since 2023.
