On December 22, 2020, the appeal was dismissed by the Federal Court of Appeal and the station stopped broadcasting. The radio station launched in 1999.

The six closed stations included: Funny 1290 (CFRW-AM), Funny 1060 (CKMX-AM), TSN 1260 (CFRN-AM), BNN Bloomberg 1410 (CFTE-AM), Funny 1040 (CKST-AM), and NewsTalk 1290 (CJBK-AM). The restructuring also involved closing foreign news bureaus, cutting 1300 positions, and "moving to a single newsroom approach across brands." Funny 1290 launched on February 12, 2021. The radio station replaced TSN 1290, which was closed by Bell Media on February 9.
