Bell Media announced corporate restructuring plans on June 14, 2023, that resulted in six radio station closings and another three radio stations being sold. The six closed stations included: Funny 1290 (CFRW-AM), Funny 1060 (CKMX-AM), TSN 1260 (CFRN-AM), BNN Bloomberg 1410 (CFTE-AM), Funny 1040 (CKST-AM), and NewsTalk 1290 (CJBK-AM). The restructuring also involved closing foreign news bureaus, cutting 1300 positions, and "moving to a single newsroom approach across brands.” NewsTalk 1290 launched in 1996.

CityNews Ottawa 1310 AM (CIWW-AM) went off the air at 1 p.m. ET on October 26, 2023. The news station was simulcasting on 101.1 FM (CJET-FM) and that broadcast ended at the same time. Two of the station’s digital news reporters will continue to provide local news content on the CityNews Ottawa website. Rogers Sports & Media cited low audiences, revenue decline, and the CRTC’s restrictive regulatory policies as factors that contributed to their decision.
