The shutdown will leave CKRT-DT in Rivière-du-Loup, owned by Télé Inter-Rives, as the only privately owned Radio-Canada TV affiliate in the country.

Three positions at other MAtv regional stations were also eliminated. The community television station was available exclusively to Videotron subscribers and launched in the 1970s. It was renamed MAtv in 2012 and English-language programming was introduced in September 2015.
